Pfizer yesterday released the online version of its 2007 Corporate Responsibility Report, entitled "Strong Actions: Partnering for Positive Change." The report is available at

The report looks at how Pfizer is:

• Finding new cures and treatments
• Investing in health systems
• Strengthening patient safety
• Improving business practices

It describes how Pfizer has become the first pharmaceuticals company to post on the web studies conducted of its medicines after they are on the market; a move it claims is a 'new step in improving accountability on patient safety'. The company has also improved transparency around its medicine pipeline and clinical trials.

The report, which includes a GRI Index, reveals how Pfizer is trying to improve access to medicines and strengthen healthcare systems to under-served people around the world with programmes such as "Mobilize Against Malaria" in Africa and its HIV/Aids schemes in the US. It also documents the new actions Pfizer has taken on areas such as board governance, anti-counterfeiting of drugs, stem cell policy, climate change, and diversity and inclusion.
