The Holcim Awards provide global prize money of $2 million per three-year competition cycle. The next Holcim Awards competition will open for entries on 1 July 2010.
The Holcim Foundation is funded by cement and aggregates group Holcim, and works closely with leading technical universities including ETH Zurich, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Tongji University in Shanghai. The Holcim Foundation received the Award for Global Citizenship at the sustain' Magazine Awards for Sustainability, Business and the Built Environment, 2009 in London.
Holcim is one of the world's leading producers of cement and aggregates and was named "Leader of the Industry" in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the fourth year in succession - and was thus acknowledged as the company with the best sustainability performance in the building materials industry.
