Tetley agrees to ethical sourcing

The world’s second largest tea manufacturer is to certify all its products with the Rainforest Alliance.

Tetley has made a commitment to source tea leaves used in all its brands, including decaffeinated and flavoured varieties, from Rainforest Alliance-certified farms by 2016.

Tetley sells in 70 countries and claims 75 million cups of its tea are drunk every day. Its first certified products will be available in the UK and Canada this year, and the scheme is due to roll out across the US, Australia and Europe in 2012.
